The Father’s Heart- weekly inspiration
Matthew 17:20
New King James Version (NKJV)
“Because of your unbelief; for assuredly , I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”
As believers, all we need is the faith the size of a mustard seed to see results in our lives. We are all dealt a measure of faith through God’s grace once we come into the Kingdom. No man’s measure is greater than another; at least in the beginning. Of course it is up to us to grow our faith as we continue on in this life through reading the Word, listening and RECEIVING from the men and women of God that He has sent to us, and praying in the Spirit.
All that we will ever need in this world; healing, prosperity, a new car or home, our family to be saved was already given to us. We already have it; it is just dependent upon our own faith as to whether or not we receive it. Look to the example of Jesus as to how faith works.
Jesus had all the power in heaven and in earth at his disposal; however if you look closely in the Word, He didn’t walk around meeting the needs of everyone He came in contact with. The majority of his healing miracles were done based upon the faith of those who sought Him. Their faith drew Jesus and the miracles to them, not the other way around. Just take a look at the gospels and count how many times Jesus told someone that their faith had made them whole, or to “only believe.” The woman with the issue of Blood in Luke 8 as well as Jairus are two of the most prevalent examples of this.
In looking at the story of Jairus and his daughter, we can learn another valuable lesson. When Jesus went to the house there were mourners there who when Jesus told them that his daughter was merely sleeping and not dead, began to mock Jesus. What did Jesus do? “He put them all outside” (Luke 8:54). He did not need their unbelief and lack of faith. This is why he only allowed James, Peter, John, and Jairus to enter with Him; 3 of the strongest disciples (just read the books they wrote) and a man of immeasurable faith who sought Him out and believed as Jesus instructed him to do. This is what many of us have to do in our lives; remove or stay away from those who lack the faith that we do. Sometimes it is in our best interest not to “share” with those who only believe as we do. Our faith needs to constantly increase and grow stronger, not the opposite.
In order to receive from our Father, we must stay in faith. Without it, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). Also remember this,
Hebrews 11:6
New King James Version (NKJV)
“But without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
God rewards those that seek Him. He rewards those who have faith!
Begin to build up your faith today knowing that the blessings of the Father await you. Remember that all it takes is faith the size of a mustard seed to activate that faith. However, the larger our faith grows, the easier it is to overcome when faced with adversity. So don’t be satisfied with that mustard seed; increase it daily and remember that faith draws our Father to us!
