Sin Consciousness vs. Righteousness Consciousness

Isaiah 54:14
New King James Version (NKJV)

“In righteousness you have been established.”

Many of us walk around feeling that we are “unworthy” to stand before God, ask Him for anything, or even walk into a church. We feel that we are too deeply rooted in sin or too “dirty” to seek Him. I can’t count the amount of times I’ve heard, “I will go to church when I get myself together.” How many of you are currently stuck in that mindset?

The first thing that many of you need to understand is that mindset is a trick of the enemy. Remember that he is a deceiver of men and wants to keep you separated from God through sin. If he can keep you in that mindset which is sin consciousness, he knows that he can keep you from living the life that God predestined you for- a life of righteousness and glory in Christ Jesus!

Jesus tells us to come as we are. So it doesn’t matter who you are or what sin we are currently in. Jesus communed with liars, thieves, prostitutes, and murderers in order to bring them into a righteous consciousness. So who are we to think we are not worthy enough when our Savior set himself among sinners in order to save them?

The Word tells us that we are the righteousness of God in Christ and in this righteousness we shall be established. It is just a matter of us believing and truly receiving it. We do this through reading and meditating on the Word of God.

Hebrews 5:13
New King James Version (NKJV)

“For everyone who partakes only milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

In other words, we become skilled in righteousness as we mature in the Word. Righteousness is a gift for all believers freely given by our Father. We cannot earn it because it is freely given. However, we need to recognize that we are righteous and not in sin. That is the key- to recognize and believe so that we can become free from a sin conscious mind and into a righteous conscious mind. Maturity in the Word!

Don’t allow the enemy to convince you that you are anything but righteous. Our Father is not a respecter of persons and remember that there is no degree when it comes to sin. To our Father, they are all the same. Also once we repent, He forgets them so why should we remember them? Get into the Word and gain a true revelation of your righteousness. Do not allow yourself to be deceived any longer. It’s time to move from sin consciousness to righteous consciousness!
